Cultural Attractions
A visit to Midtown's museums, performances, and theaters is a lesson in cultural enrichment. Renowned art exhibits, masterful performances of music, comedy, and drama captivate audiences across the cultural spectrum. World-premiere productions draw audiences to the Emmy-Award-winning Alliance Theatre, while the Grammy-Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performs to audiences year-round. The leading art museum in Midtown is the High Museum of Art. Kids and kids at heart enjoy the magic of puppetry at the Center for Puppetry Arts, as well as dramatic performances by the Alliance Children's Theatre. Our community is home to many world-class visual artists, musicians, and stage performers, all of whom enrich these and many other important cultural and entertainment venues.

Alliance Theatre
The Emmy-Award-winning Alliance is one of the largest regional theaters in the nation, serving a diverse audience through award-winning work. The Alliance has produced more than 50 world premieres bringing the world's best resources to Atlanta.

Atlanta Botanical Garden
This peaceful oasis includes 30 acres of gardens, an urban forest, wildflower trails, the Dorothy Chapman Fuqua Conservatory and the 10,000 square-foot Fuqua Orchid Center. A charming bridge links the main gardens to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Children's Garden. The Garden also offers year-round special events, exhibits and workshops.  

The Atlanta Opera
The Atlanta Opera offers four main stage productions each season, in addition to other programs, such as Pre-Opera Lectures and student matinees to further enhance the experience of opera.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) is a Grammy-Award-winning, internationally-renowned ensemble now in its 62nd season. Currently flourishing under the creative partnership of Music Director Robert Spano and Principal Guest Conductor Donald Runnicles, the ASO has garnered 23 Grammy Awards.

Center for Puppetry Arts
Center for Puppetry Arts is the largest organization in North America dedicated to the art of puppetry. The center offers performances from the Family Series and New Directions for adults. An interactive museum, Puppets: The Power of Wonder, is the largest puppetry museum in the United States.

The Fox Theatre
This opulent historic landmark presents shows by Broadway in Atlanta and Theater of the Stars, as well as a Summer Movie series. Here, too, one of the nation's premier professional ballet companies, the Atlanta Ballet, performs its holiday season favorite “The Nutcracker.”   

High Museum of Art
The High Museum of Art is the leading art museum in the southeast. Expect a broad, diverse selection of art comprising 19th/20th century American works, European paintings, decorative arts, African, African-American art, photography, and modern and contemporary art.

Ivy Hall
Restored to its original Queen Anne Victorian grandeur, Ivy Hall in Midtown is The Savannah College of Art and Design's cultural arts and writing center.

Laughing Skull Lounge
The Laughing Skull Lounge is the smallest full-time comedy club in the world with only 74 seats, but it still brings the biggest comedy acts to town. This unique combination is why The Laughing Skull Lounge has been voted best comedy club in Atlanta by several local media and as one of the best comedy clubs in the world by Delta Sky magazine. Conveniently located in the back of The Vortex Midtown two blocks from MARTA's 10th street/Midtown stop.

Margaret Mitchell House
The Margaret Mitchell House, located in Midtown and listed on the national register of historic places, features guided tours of the apartment where Margaret Mitchell wrote Gone With the Wind, a Gone With the Wind movie exhibition, an exhibition showcasing the life and times of one of America’s most famous authors, and the Margaret Mitchell gift shop.

Throughout the year, enjoy a variety of programs presented by the Literary Center at the Margaret Mitchell House. Designed to honor and preserve the legacy of Margaret Mitchell, the Lit Center hosts regular programs with award-winning authors as well as annual creative writing classes for adults and youth, and community initiatives that engage younger generations in the process of writing, reading, and reciting literature, such as Summer Camps, the Big Read, and Poetry Out Loud.

Piedmont Park
Piedmont Park is the 189-acre Central Park of Atlanta, Georgia, located in Midtown, north of the city center.

William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum
Through its exhibitions, publications and resources, this museum of the Atlanta Jewish Federation explores Jewish heritage in general and how it relates to other cultures and religions. It contains two permanent galleries and hosts special rotating exhibits.

Woodruff Arts Center
Woodruff Arts Center, named for Atlanta Coca-Cola magnate Robert W. Woodruff, has grown into the most dynamic center for the visual and performing arts in the South and is among the top such centers in the nation. The Woodruff Arts Center includes the Alliance Theatre, High Museum of Art, Young Audiences, 14th Street Playhouse, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Midtown Atlanta is a vibrant urban center with a mix of businesses and residences, cultural destinations, institutions of higher learning, green space, shops, and restaurants (100+ of them serving dinner nightly)-all enhancing this walkable community. Midtown is centrally located north of Downtown, south of Buckhead, and on the east side of the Interstate 75/85 Connector. With three mass transit stations and excellent interstate accessibility, Midtown is a desirable and convenient address for a business or residence.

Midtown Alliance
Since 1978, the nonprofit Midtown Alliance has guided Midtown's progress. A sophisticated, yet inclusive network of members, volunteers, staff, and professional consultants has helped transform the community into a model of urban vitality. Their shared goal: to make Midtown Atlanta an exceptional place to live, work, learn, shop, and play.

Midtown Blue
The nonprofit Midtown Blue is the 24/7 public safety force of off-duty police officers patrolling Midtown and augmenting Atlanta Police Department (APD) services for a safer environment. Midtown Blue officers have full powers of arrest, are highly visible and mobile, and provide a maximum community presence, all in keeping with the organization's primary goals.

Midtown Ponce Security Alliance
The MPSA serves the Midtown community as a non-profit organization by coordinating our neighborhood response to public safety and security issues in order to advance the Midtown way of life. The MPSA achieves this objective primarily by operating a neighborhood security force funded by its community sponsors and residential and business members.

Midtown Mile
The Midtown Mile is located at the core of the neighborhood, spanning one-mile of Peachtree Street from North Avenue to 15th Street.

Piedmont Park Conservancy
Piedmont Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization working with the City of Atlanta for the preservation of historic Piedmont Park. The Conservancy has successfully restored the historic portion of Piedmont Park. The Conservancy has raised and invested more than $64 million for park beautification, maintenance/security programs, and a 53-acre expansion of green space.
