Planning Committees

Enthusiastic about the Festival? We hope so! Committee volunteers will be invaluable to the success of the Midtown Festival of the Arts.


Sponsorship Committee
The Sponsorship Committee is responsible for establishing benefits offered to sponsors at each sponsorship level; developing and maintaining a list of potential sponsors for each annual festival; developing a schedule for collecting sponsorship pledges; coordinating sponsorship solicitation and collection efforts of volunteers, contractors and employees of the Corporation; and, in conjunction with the Promotions and Advertising Committee, developing sponsorship materials.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for annually establishing membership dues levels and benefits offered to members; developing a schedule of events for collecting membership dues; planning, coordinating and hosting membership events; and developing required promotional materials in collaboration with the Promotion and Advertising Committee.

Programming Committee
The Programming Committee will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the performing arts events, the children's activities, and the artists market at the Festival. The Committee will determine performance talent, schedules and locations, as well as the festival hours. The Committee will also determine and manage the Artist Market Applicants and Jury. Together with the Marketing Committee, the Programming Committee will promote these events.

Budget and Finance Committee
The Budget and Finance Committee is responsible for adopting financial policies and practices for the Corporation; engaging outside financial advisors, auditors, attorneys or other financial professionals; establishing specific accounting practices, checks and balances to account for all revenues collected from members, sponsors and festival operations; and establishing the method for physically collecting and protecting revenue at the festival.

Marketing Committee
The purpose of the Midtown Festival of the Arts Promotions Committee is to provide and approve materials used to raise awareness of the Festival to current and potential sponsors, to its members, and in our community. The committee will produce results that directly and positively impact sponsorship, membership and marketing goals.

Volunteer Committee
The purpose of the Volunteer Committee is to execute a campaign to recruit and solicit volunteers for the annual Festival; promulgate a volunteer plan for the festival including the number of volunteers needed, specific posts and shifts to be staffed; and execute a training program for the volunteers.

Community Relations Committee
The Community Relations Committee is responsible for planning and cooperating with neighborhood and community organizations to share resources, membership lists and events; acting as planning coordination liaison with other local organizations and events; making presentations to local groups in order to raise Festival awareness and recruit members, sponsors, volunteers and artistic talent and annually drafting and executing a public relations campaign for the upcoming Festival year.
